28 Signs That The West Coast Is Being Absolutely Fried With Nuclear Radiation From Fukushima

The map below comes from the Nuclear Emergency Tracking Center. It shows that radiation levels at radiation monitoring stations all over the country are elevated. As you will notice, this is particularly true along the west coast of the United States. Every single day, 300 tons of radioactive water from Fukushima enters the Pacific Ocean. That means that the total amount of radioactive material released from Fukushima is constantly increasing, and it is steadily building up in our food chain.

Ultimately, all of this nuclear radiation will outlive all of us by a very wide margin. They are saying that it could take up to 40 years to clean up the Fukushima disaster, and meanwhile countless innocent people will develop cancer and other health problems as a result of exposure to high levels of nuclear radiation. We are talking about a nuclear disaster that is absolutely unprecedented, and it is constantly getting worse. The following are 28 signs that the west coast of North America is being absolutely fried with nuclear radiation from Fukushima…

1. Polar bears, seals and walruses along the Alaska coastline are suffering from fur loss and open sores…

Wildlife experts are studying whether fur loss and open sores detected in nine polar bears in recent weeks is widespread and related to similar incidents among seals and walruses.

The bears were among 33 spotted near Barrow, Alaska, during routine survey work along the Arctic coastline. Tests showed they had “alopecia, or loss of fur, and other skin lesions,” the U.S. Geological Survey said in a statement.

2. There is an epidemic of sea lion deaths along the California coastline…

At island rookeries off the Southern California coast, 45 percent of the pups born in June have died, said Sharon Melin, a wildlife biologist for the National Marine Fisheries Service based in Seattle. Normally, less than one-third of the pups would die. It’s gotten so bad in the past two weeks that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration declared an “unusual mortality event.”

3. Along the Pacific coast of Canada and the Alaska coastline, the population of sockeye salmon is at a historic low. Many are blaming Fukushima.

4. Something is causing fish all along the west coast of Canada to bleed from their gills, bellies and eyeballs.

5. A vast field of radioactive debris from Fukushima that is approximately the size of California has crossed the Pacific Ocean and is starting to collide with the west coast.

6. It is being projected that the radioactivity of coastal waters off the U.S. west coast could double over the next five to six years.

7. Experts have found very high levels of cesium-137 in plankton living in the waters of the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and the west coast.

8. One test in California found that 15 out of 15 bluefin tuna were contaminated with radiation from Fukushima.

9. Back in 2012, the Vancouver Sun reported that cesium-137 was being found in a very high percentage of the fish that Japan was selling to Canada…

• 73 percent of mackerel tested

• 91 percent of the halibut

• 92 percent of the sardines

• 93 percent of the tuna and eel

• 94 percent of the cod and anchovies

• 100 percent of the carp, seaweed, shark and monkfish

10. Canadian authorities are finding extremely high levels of nuclear radiation in certain fish samples…

Some fish samples tested to date have had very high levels of radiation: one sea bass sample collected in July, for example, had 1,000 becquerels per kilogram of cesium.

11. Some experts believe that we could see very high levels of cancer along the west coast just from people eating contaminated fish…

“Look at what’s going on now: They’re dumping huge amounts of radioactivity into the ocean — no one expected that in 2011,” Daniel Hirsch, a nuclear policy lecturer at the University of California-Santa Cruz, told Global Security Newswire. “We could have large numbers of cancer from ingestion of fish.”

12. BBC News recently reported that radiation levels around Fukushima are “18 times higher” than previously believed.

13. An EU-funded study concluded that Fukushima released up to 210 quadrillion becquerels of cesium-137 into the atmosphere.

14. Atmospheric radiation from Fukushima reached the west coast of the United States within a few days back in 2011.

15. At this point, 300 tons of contaminated water is pouring into the Pacific Ocean from Fukushima every single day.

16. A senior researcher of marine chemistry at the Japan Meteorological Agency’s Meteorological Research Institute says that “30 billion becquerels of radioactive cesium and 30 billion becquerels of radioactive strontium” are being released into the Pacific Ocean from Fukushima every single day.

17. According to Tepco, a total of somewhere between 20 trillion and 40 trillion becquerels of radioactive tritium have gotten into the Pacific Ocean since the Fukushima disaster first began.

18. According to a professor at Tokyo University, 3 gigabecquerels of cesium-137 are flowing into the port at Fukushima Daiichi every single day.

19. It has been estimated that up to 100 times as much nuclear radiation has been released into the ocean from Fukushima than was released during the entire Chernobyl disaster.

20. One recent study concluded that a very large plume of cesium-137 from the Fukushima disaster will start flowing into U.S. coastal waters early next year…

Ocean simulations showed that the plume of radioactive cesium-137 released by the Fukushima disaster in 2011 could begin flowing into U.S. coastal waters starting in early 2014 and peak in 2016.

21. It is being projected that significant levels of cesium-137 will reach every corner of the Pacific Ocean by the year 2020.

22. It is being projected that the entire Pacific Ocean will soon “have cesium levels 5 to 10 times higher” than what we witnessed during the era of heavy atomic bomb testing in the Pacific many decades ago.

23. The immense amounts of nuclear radiation getting into the water in the Pacific Ocean has caused environmental activist Joe Martino to issue the following warning…

Your days of eating Pacific Ocean fish are over.

24. The Iodine-131, Cesium-137 and Strontium-90 that are constantly coming from Fukushima are going to affect the health of those living the the northern hemisphere for a very, very long time. Just consider what Harvey Wasserman had to say about this…

Iodine-131, for example, can be ingested into the thyroid, where it emits beta particles (electrons) that damage tissue. A plague of damaged thyroids has already been reported among as many as 40 percent of the children in the Fukushima area. That percentage can only go higher. In developing youngsters, it can stunt both physical and mental growth. Among adults it causes a very wide range of ancillary ailments, including cancer.

Strontium-90’s half-life is around 29 years. It mimics calcium and goes to our bones.

25. According to a recent Planet Infowars report, the California coastline is being transformed into “a dead zone”…

The California coastline is becoming like a dead zone.

If you haven’t been to a California beach lately, you probably don’t know that the rocks are unnaturally CLEAN – there’s hardly any kelp, barnacles, sea urchins, etc. anymore and the tide pools are similarly eerily devoid of crabs, snails and other scurrying signs of life… and especially as compared to 10 – 15 years ago when one was wise to wear tennis shoes on a trip to the beach in order to avoid cutting one’s feet on all the STUFF of life – broken shells, bones, glass, driftwood, etc.

There are also days when I am hard-pressed to find even a half dozen seagulls and/or terns on the county beach.

You can still find a few gulls trolling the picnic areas and some of the restaurants (with outdoor seating areas) for food, of course, but, when I think back to 10 – 15 years ago, the skies and ALL the beaches were literally filled with seagulls and the haunting sound of their cries both day and night…

NOW it’s unnaturally quiet.

26. A study conducted last year came to the conclusion that radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster could negatively affect human life along the west coast of North America from Mexico to Alaska “for decades”.

27. According to the Wall Street Journal, it is being projected that the cleanup of Fukushima could take up to 40 years to complete.

28. Yale Professor Charles Perrow is warning that if the cleanup of Fukushima is not handled with 100% precision that humanity could be threatened “for thousands of years”…

Conditions in the unit 4 pool, 100 feet from the ground, are perilous, and if any two of the rods touch it could cause a nuclear reaction that would be uncontrollable. The radiation emitted from all these rods, if they are not continually cool and kept separate, would require the evacuation of surrounding areas including Tokyo. Because of the radiation at the site the 6,375 rods in the common storage pool could not be continuously cooled; they would fission and all of humanity will be threatened, for thousands of years.

Are you starting to understand why so many people are so deeply concerned about what is going on at Fukushima?

And, lets not forget this. The impact from this disaster will be felt for generations upon generations. Where's the outrage?

  2. Trish Strong

Can you provide some actual scientific references to this information. Most sites that make claims as being made here have links to legitimate scientific articles that back the information they post.I see none here and therefore question the viability of your claims. Some of them I know are easily debunked.

  3. Cody McEntyre

Teresa LaDonna Ritchey Ummm Trish Strong is making a very good point. There are no sources cited and I have not seen any factual data to prove any of these claims. And this would not be the first fear mongering article to spread over the internet making false claims about fukushima. I havn't done the research yet to find out if any of it is true, but I would remain very skeptical until facts were found and presented.

  4. How about this Trish, google it yourself to see if it's true which is so obvious that it will slap you in the face, or just go ahead and go to California and see for yourself, twit.

  5. Shane Killingsworth

Just google the references yourself, it's not that hard, Fukishima is a disaster and its getting worse by the day, Tepco and the Japaneese government have admitted it themselves, they have asked for workers from all over the world to do the clean-up work because they can't let people work for long before their RAD TAGs go off, it is a suicide mission, Where the hell do you think all that radiation is going? It doesn't take a Rhodes Scholar to figure this shit out.

  6. Cody McEntyre

Shane Killingsworth I have not been able to put a lot of time into my own research, but the data I did find compared fukushima to chernobyl, and if this is the case most of the radiation will get diluted in the pacific ocean without a large impact on the U.S. But that is assuming the data that has been released about fukushima is accurate, as there were rumors that the data that was released by japan was misleading, and like I said I have not been able to look into it further. But after researching the effects of chernobyl, even if fukushima was twice as bad, I doubt we would notice a huge impact. I'm not a harvard scientist, I am just relying on the events of chernobyl as a reference. Time will tell.

  7. My bible is accurate.."heaven and earth will pass away".book of Revelation says the sea will turn red and most of sea life will die!! Fishers will mourn.! Jesus is comming for his people soon..repented people..not religious..says 2/3 of population will be left behind..watch whats comming and get ready/repent!!!

  8. Wayne Anderson

    Shane Killingsworth

the burden of proof is on the author, not the reader. if the author can't be bothered providing proof, why should we bother believing them?

  9. really helping the cause here – do you feel better after your trolling? Trish is asking a legit question and asking the original poster to help explain the conclusions with more than rumor. Unfortunately, Trish doesn't provide her own references concerning which rumors have been debunked. O well, can I get anchovies with that?

  10. Shane Killingsworth hahaha so true dont bother arguing here its really not worth the time i stop doing that quite long time ago its really useless arguing with someone who cant even use google and be free minded. You know their are still so many people who believe 9/11 government story.lOL~~

  11. Suzanne Rosenorn Its not just the Americans its the Europeans Asians its everywhere really you think its only the Americans that are ignorant or what?Oh come on now.Just walk and ask people about the world problems any where in the world and you then understand its not just the Americans.Every country has their media propaganda corps to government propaganda you think its only Americans that are ignorant or that everyone else is mostly awake?nope not even in Germany if you think most are awake there nope and that goes out to the rest of the world hell USA might as well have more nonignorant pop of the world problems then you think.=)

  12. Lucienne Hill Bard

Cody McEntyre Obviously the nuclear facility at Fukushima was seriously damaged by a large earthquake and subsequent tsunami. What do you think happens to a damaged nuclear facility? Do you remember 3 Mile Island? Small potatoes to Fukushima. The author's failure to cite scientific data does not mean this report is bogus. He did make reference to the Wall Street Journal, a very respected newspaper which would check facts.

  13. William Molt

NWO is a crock of shit Stewwie…so is Agenda 21…but hey our government has huge store of food and ammo in their underground bases…lol boakyag…bend over and kiss your ass goodbye!

  14. Chernobyl is a very poor comparison! It is land locked and does not sit right next to the ocean like Fukushima does. Chernobyl also did not experience a tsunami that washed very large volumes of water on the shore and back into the ocean during the meltdown. Contamination that reached the Pripyat River next to Chernobyl was minimal in comparison to the contamination that has been directly washed into the ocean at Fukushima.

  15. Gosh how much Nuclear waste has been dumped into the pacific ocean by americans for years? how much nuclear radiation came from the French nuclear tests in French Polynesia? or American/british tests at bikini atoll Christmas island. what about 3 mile island nuclear powerstation? how many nuclear powerstations are operating in the USA and testing around them? and did America not drop two atomic bombs on japan in the second world war? how much Radiation do we get from the SUN everyday? the Ozone hole lets more get through causing Skin Cancers maybe it is Natural Radiation causing problems or how about Cancer from Red Meat Bowel Cancer, or Breast cancer gosh you could blame japan for all the cancer in the world? what about the use of Depleted Uranium in weapons used by American troops in the middle east and the Deformities of babies born since usa started using those weapons over there ..lets blame Japan again …19,000 people died from the Tsunamai waves how many died from Radiation? 0? but ignore that japan sells cars to usa and maybe it is about trade or anti Asian propaganda? over fishing has reduced fish numbers do people still go to California beaches ? we had the same Scare stories after Chernobyl affecting usa….

I am asking for those who ridicule me for putting this information up. challenging them in fact. If you believe this is not happening.. and that the videos of tuna who were found in CA., Radio active.. and the news and the united nations reports. ABC, NEWS Reports, . Prove this to be false. Currents never stop. BBC, Sixty minuets, Research Stations near Japan. Independent Science Communities, Green Peace. it is like mixing a cake up.. It affects us all.. The currents and the seas are always moving. Give me an scientifically examination to prove all these theories and documentation are false. Give a real explanation which can hold up.. Saying it is lies, then prove them as lies. Do the research and then post your results on the web. Otherwise you just blowing smoke up reality. Look how far the bombs affected Japan.. and still affecting their lives. Now this is real. Give us a real explanations. This is a real situation and there is documentation on this occurrence. You say it is B/S.. Then I challenge you to prove to me it is not happening.. That is my challenge to those who think it is all B/S.. Show me videos. research of what you are saying and then I will consider them.. Prove that these things are not happening, Other wise stop harassing.

Thank you for that information regarding clicking on the Activist Post link, I wasn't aware of this function before now. I haven't seen any other individual remark on this function so perhaps you *were* the only one to realise it! :) I'm looking forward to reading the verifications.

Ok, for those that missed the comment regarding the 'Activist Post' button and are looking for sources, please click on this button. You will be taken to this post here http://www.activistpost.com/2013/10/28-signs-that-west-coast-is-being.html which has lots of embedded links in the article. Not all of these are as up to date as suggested: for example, the fur loss and open sores in point one has this link http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/04/08/11083494-fur-loss-open-sores-seen-in-polar-bears with the post date of April 2012. The article cites a rise in a condition in polar bears and deaths amongst certain sea mammals (seals and walrus) that at the time constituted a report of Unusual Mortality yet did not suggest that this was a new condition but rather something that had been previously noted, admittedly in lesser numbers. There were a number of possibilities but radiation at the time wasn't one of them: there is a LOT of toxicity on this planet and to suggest that this report is an indication of what is happening with Fukushima is, I feel, a misrepresentation of the data in this particular article. Point two has this link http://www.zerohedge.com/contributed/2013-03-31/fukushima-radiation-causing-epidemic-dead-and-starving-sea-lions-california which contains a mix of reports dating as far back as 2011. Those who are interested can follow the rest of the bouncing balls themselves.

From this it is clear that *something* is happening: industrialisation has been pumping toxins into the sea for at least a century, overfishing is tipping the balance in fish stocks, the positive feedback cycle of global warming is having its own effects, Fukushima is a *major* issue. Is it really necessary to argue semantics and rearrange the deck chairs while the Titanic sinks, or can there be a consensus that the environment as a global eco-system is indeed beginning to tank, even if we're only seeing the thin edge of the wedge now? Do we *need* to sit back and argue statistics and semantics *before* being moved to action, or is it easier to trade in sensationalist headlines, lob facts and figures back and forth like intellectual rocks and intellectualise until the domino effect *really* kicks in? An evolution is social consciousness is what is necessary now- the issue of Fukushima is just one of 10,000 problems that all have one central cause at the hub- heteronomy- and the only solution is to embrace sui generis- of planet, of eco-system, of individual- and get off the domination and control cycle. Evolve or die- that's really what it's coming down to and I'm interested in those who actually want to *evolve*. There is no 'political' solution to this, no legislative bandaid that will make all the issues go away because the *foundational thinking* of society is the primary fundamental building block of the whole mess. Total transformation of operating platform and thinking is the first step, as I see it: while individuals continue with lack of personal action and total personal responsibility there's nothing but extinction looming. I have no interest in that path. :)

  20. Cindy Saulnier

seriously? you think you'll see this on fox news? Nuclear disasters dont 'just go away'. THERE'S your proof.

  21. Jerr Bullock-hubbard

take time to educate yourselves the information is out there on this and its backed up by scientific evidence

  22. Ellen Engling Stacey

Shane Killingsworth I would think they would be hard pressed to find people from all over the world who would be willing to do low level work on that disaster. Look what they did to the Chernobyl people. Most of them died and those that didn't were simply screwed because the country abandoned their needs. Too expensive. The Japanese have a more obvious driving force, though the whole world is in danger over this ridiculous disaster.

  23. Ellen Engling Stacey

Cody McEntyre Ignoring the fact that wikipedia isn't a reliable source for much of anything, I read what they have and I have to disagree totally on the number of deaths. I mean 2 deaths from Chernobyl? There were many, many deaths. Many of the workers died. They are clearly not counting the slow deaths, only the quick deaths from an explosion. Many workers in Fukushima have died also. They at least knew it was pretty much a suicide mission.

  24. Ellen Engling Stacey

Honza Havlasek I imagine all the countries are doing crap to hide this thing under the rug as much as possible. I mean, the US raised the allowable limit of radiation in food to over 10x the previous value, I think. I read one article where they said the U.S. limits are now higher than Japan's so they can send whatever they catch that is unsafe there and send it over here for consumption. Don't be relying on the government to worry about your safety.

  25. Ellen Engling Stacey

Are you people so lazy about reading articles that you can't look for credible scientific sources? I mean, geez. Do you really think people who don't know anything about nuclear science would jump to conclusions about contamination causing the issues? Besides, they have have lots of grant money to use to study such things. Lets be real. And SNOPES? Yeah, right. Though they don't all agree on the severity of the problem, scientists agree the world is in danger. Check it out!!!

  27. Ellen Engling Stacey

Are you serious? It is already affecting us all. Do you eat fish? Sea food of any kind? Did you know that lots of contamination has been deposited all over the US in the stuff that traveled via the wind? You go on being deluded.

  28. Elmo Revelations does declare this but it also says Jesus will come like a thief in the night. Meaning we all do not know when he will come. When he knocks on our doors will we answer whether it be day or night. Only God knows when our days or nights here on Earth will be. Man does evil things on earth and doesn't think the consequences will be blamed onto them. Just like the ones who thought Dec. 21st, 2012 was the end of the world. They were fooled when they woke the next morning. I on the other hand think that God will end it all in the next 1,000 yrs. Every man, woman, child, animals and fish in the waters will probably cease to exist. That's when the Angels of Heaven and Satan and his minions will have an all out war in the Middle East where it describes in the Book of Revelations. That will not be the last war fought between them.

  29. Whispering Willows Nichole Wilde

Ya I understand what you are saying but the government has a nasty habit of hiding things from us just to keep the panic at bay. I have seen so much of what she is saying with the wildlife. And there is no other explanation.

  30. Jerry Adams

Teresa LaDonna Ritchey , I have to agree with you, the proof happened 2 1/2 years ago. I guess Trish and Cody are waiting (like the rest of the world) for their children to get sick before they believe daily leaking radiation will harm humans. The part that really caps my crack is, this is the normal response, just because we don't "hear it on the news" it ain't happening, Thank God for the internet or this information (left up to the lamestream media) would never be heard in this country! This needs attention NOW!…actually 2 1/2 years ago!

P.S. – In fairness, it does seem as though the 'Activist Post' link at the top of this article does lead to another page which has the relevant citations. I think my general point still stands, though. It is, frankly, a little bit rude to tell people to find cites for claims they themselves aren't actually making.

  33. Resources if you need them, get on a flight to Fukishima and see for yourself. Go to the westcoast of America and see for yourself. You live in Canada, and you guys have what is supposed to be a "NO LIARS" market, so find it out like I did. The info is out there, but your not going to believe anyone but yourself, so do just that, and we'll be waiting for you when you return from your journey.

  34. Dennis Malcolm Gedye

Martin Bogan , haven't you heard that snopes is a husband & wife team who Google their answers & bearing in mind that Google & You Tube tailor their answers to what they think you want to see, be careful how you ask questions!

  35. Bob Claybowl

Scientific references? Only a fool would rely on, let alone think that the government controlled scientific community and media would actually tell the sheeple the truth. Remember, GMOs and fluoride are good for you.

  36. Deborah Zwolenkiewicz

I don't know about all of the other signs listed, but I live on the California coastline and there are tons of gulls, pelicans, cormorants, and kelp.

  37. Man being a tool user to make life easier, people demand so much technical evidence that the tool of nuclear energy is a bad idea, dangerous to life and economic damaging yet were so willing to except that it was a good idea, safe for life and affordable all based on no more than the nuclear energy's own crafted commercial media's message. The first people to organize and opposed nuclear powered electrical generation on a national and world level in the 1970's used nothing but facts and data that the majority of the world wanted to ignore… even now of how useless a tool nuclear power is. Unless everyone has the highest level of tool expertize… a scientist level of understanding the physics of radiation, a technical understanding of how nuclear generate power is made and the financial cost of nuclear power…. ONLY personal experience with tool failure …like whats just now starting at Fukishima…will be the best teacher for understanding that the tool is not good, its radically broken and it is costing lives and money….all just to have electricity !

  38. Mimi Santina

So it maybe sign for all the phonies in California that every crazy idolizes, the rath of god is coming..

  39. Neil Murrell

Bob Claybowl – Just out of curiosity, if you don't rely on scientific references, what do you rely on? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, or anything, but it seems to me that our choices are scientific references or hearsay. The former may not always be entirely reliable, but the latter almost never is.

  40. Alyssa Halpin: Thank you for stating that detail about the references! I would never have known otherwise! And it makes one wonder why the article 'with' the references linked isn't the actual main article, but is instead a sub-article. While it wasn't difficult to "do," it certainly isn't an obvious place, or label, for references either!

  41. Mungo Jerry

Honza Havlasek : wish people would stop petty personalisations., the Earth is at stake.Keep on the issue. Its NUCLEAR POWER. Germans at least have a plan to phase out nuclear by 2020 ,Americans have a plan to build more….that puts more active awareness where? .. Nuclear is gross dirty. Everyone knows it, except the people who put money first and tie up patented greener technology for a more polluting technology.

  42. Mathematics. Your may want to try some. You will find that your doom and gloom scenarios are off by many. many orders of magnitude. Here's a hint: ten to the MINUS power is a very, very small value.

Fukishima could (well, actually by design, it can't) burn down like Chernobyl and not release 1/100th of the amount of radiation that released. (THAT was a disaster…and still nowhere near the effects that you are blaming on Fukishima.

We ourselves releasd many millins of times more radioactivity in any single open-air atomic bomb test we ever performed.

  43. Steve Pratt

Umm.. the so-called "Nuclear Emergency Tracking Center" is not any official organization–it is an 'End Times' website run by a rabid bible-thumper who is happy to charge you for $19.95 per year for more of the same twisted garbage. The actual chart shown has apparently been 'photo-shopped', since the official NASA chart looks completely different, showing no such rad levels on the West Coast. The greatest thing about the internet is that, while it can be used to spread lies, it can also be used to spread truth. You're Welcome.

  44. Michael Hartman

so.. is the general conclusion that we shouldn't worry about it b/c the ocean is going to dilute and wash away our problems? Sounds like we're brushing the dirt under the carpet. I'm assuming diluted radiation is about as safe as diluted Florine, right?

  45. Deborah Zwolenkiewicz

Angelica Hayden Sure is! Just wondering how true it all is since the info posted regarding the coastline in inconsistent with what I'm seeing here anyway. But even if some of it is accurate it's waaaaay scary!!!

  46. Danny Aragon

well, one proven and documented fact is that the radiation reached the west coast just a few days after the disaster. It was all over the news and it was popular on the blogs…..the amount (level) of radiation is a different story though. I would not disregard this article though, as it is not beyond the Gov't to NOT let people know the situation they are in, in order NOT to create a panic.

  47. 1 kg of coffee has 1000 becquerels of radiation so watch the coffee intake..the average human has 4,500 bq and smoke detectors have 30,000bq's but they save lives .don't believe the scare stories blaming Japan. how many Nuclear power stations operate in the USA ? it has to blame japan to take the focus off usa potential leaks from their own stations. farmed salmon in cages genetic engineered salmon have been causing problems with Wild Salmon for years before fukushima. plastic in the oceans kill huge numbers of sea creatures, pesticides, oil pollution etc as well. .the tsunamai washed tons of soil ,fertalisers, poisons, and rubbish of the land into the sea….this is anti japan and pro USA …propaganda .

  48. Gabrielle Tess

Your intention with this piece is, I take it, to help us become aware of the depth of the crisis so presumably we can find ways to work together to respond to it. If that's the case, please post sources, references so that we can follow-up. Otherwise, you have just wasted our time as well as your own.

  49. Michael Hartman
Considering the levels of contamination in the ocean are so low, that the waters that reach California from Fukushima will have as much contamination from Fukushima (peticularly cs-137) in a cubic-meter of seawater as you find in your average banana… which equates to drinking 1.5 years worth of the average human's water consumption – in unfiltered seawater…
Or that Fukushima-spawned Tuna, in 20kg of Tuna-steak (or ~20 Tuna Steaks) have as much contamination as – yes – a banana. Actually, that's wrong, they give the same dose. Different levels, but for your sake I did the math and figure out the dose levels for you. (Dose as in how much damage it will do to your body).
So why bring up a banana? Because you don't freak out about bananas. So unless you start calling them the Yellow Spawn of Satan, Fukushima is nothing to worry about.
Yes. Yes, that is what you should believe.

And this is what a Nuclear Education degree gets you. Understanding. Not freaking out.

This article should be "28 Signs that this author has no clue about anything nuclear related."
He doesn't even know the difference between Contamination and Radiation, which is like Radiation 101.
Or we could call it, "The Slaughter of the concept that Correlation is not Causation," or "We're going to blame Fukushima things that aren't Scientifically Possible."

  50. Cheryl Liberty Garand,
The real tragedy is what happened when everyone freaked out about Fukushima.
Whereas Fukushima killed no one and only gave two workers enough radiation to give them a notable risk of cancer – not even guaranteed – what did happen was a lack of resources being sent to the tens of thousands of dying people. All the media attention was on the "OMG RADIATION," rather than "OMG DROWNING/STARVING PEOPLE."

Fun fact: Those who stayed in Tokyo received a smaller dose, over a longer period of time (therefor safer) than those who flew to America to flee it – simply because the airplane puts you that much closer to the sun. (Staying in Tokyo after Fukushima netted recipients of the contamination a total dose of 40microSieverts – a standard Transpacific flight nets you 70.)
Source? For one, I myself was in the Tokyo Bay and got to stand in a big, fancy-shmancy super-accurate radiac box and prove that my body had so little contamination that my body was still acting as a shield to background radiation.

    Or:

Nuclear is clean as hell. I totally agree that old plants need to be shut down (note the construction times of all of the accidents you've heard about – the 1950's or early 60s) It's like comparing an original computer from the '50s to the one you're typing on now and expecting them to be just as poor in performance.
TEPCO has indeed shown themselves to be rather incompetent, but Fukushima still isn't as bad as you're all making it sound.
New nuclear reactors are absolutely amazing; their control rooms make the Starship Enterprise look like a Model-T. Even '80s grade protection systems make a meltdown a non-concern, modern digital stuff makes it laughable.

And no, I'm not "getting paid to say this." The government doesn't pay me enough to renew my enlistment, let alone lie for them. I'm simply educated.

Now, to wait for the "YOU DISAGREE WITH ME THAT MAKES YOU A PART OF THE CONSPIRACY" statements…
… because people who freak out without reason so frequently have a problem admitting their lack-of-fact sensationalism is wrong.

  51. Ellen Engling Stacey
Actually, they don't all agree on that.
Nuclear operators worldwide disagree with your statement.
It just so happens that I am one, and I happen to work with hundreds.

  52. Bernice VictoriousTruth Pattow

Yaaaaa duhhhh Really!!!!!~ Jesus said it and if I were YOU I'd take it pretty Seriously!!!

Hey Underground Health why is it you only care about America and only show things for them … what about the rest of the world that subscribe to your posts? Is it only Underground Health America? You want to open peoples eyes and broaden minds but you're limited to what you'll teach/share.

  54. Gail Van Ess God doesn't need to end this, we are doing a very fine job, ourselves.
Look, everyone is So ANGRY! Wow, such energy! this is good! But instead of railing at one another over the net, a bunch of typed words do NOTHING to help in the end. Folks this disaster, no matter the DETAILS, is still a huge disaster. Of Epic Proportions. Are we going to stand around and argue pitiful details and wait around for a so-called entity to save us? lets get out there and make stuff happen the way we want it to!

  55. Rob Anton

Eddie G. Gregorczyk .. I'm Canadian and this is the first I'm hearing of a "No Liars" market. Can you elaborate?

  56. Never Mind

Oh well, seagulls and most other forms of independent life have always been considered 'pests' to be destroyed by the vast majority of the population worldwide so I guess that radioactive contamination is the perfect solution for the average hunting, meat eating joe. Shame that all living creatures they like to put in sandwiches and casseroles are not going to be available anymore but heck, you can't have everything!

  57. Kelly Hudson

I think you should be listing sources, studies, and dates. There is enough going on without making people panic. Get your facts straight. List your sources., studies, etc.
