(NaturalNews) If you have stomach problems or gastrointestinal problems, a new study led by Dr. Judy Carman may help explain why: pigs fed a diet of genetically engineered soy and corn showed a 267% increase in severe stomach inflammation compared to those fed non-GMO diets. In males, the difference was even more pronounced: a 400% increase. (For the record, most autistic children are males, and nearly all of them have severe intestinal inflammation.)

The study was conducted on 168 young pigs on an authentic farm environment and was carried out over a 23-week period by eight researchers across Australia and the USA. The lead researcher, Dr. Judy Carman, is from the Institute of Health and Environmental Research in Kensington Park, Australia. The study has now been published in the Journal of Organic Systems, a peer-reviewed science journal.

The study is the first to show what appears to be a direct connection between the ingestion of GMO animal feed and measurable damage to the stomachs of those animals. Tests also showed abnormally high uterine weights of animals fed the GMO diets, raising further questions about the possibility of GMOs causing reproductive organ damage.

Proponents of corporate-dominated GMO plant science quickly attacked the study, announcing that in their own minds, there is no such thing as any evidence linking GMOs to biological harm in any animals whatsoever. And they are determined to continue to believe that, even if it means selectively ignoring the increasingly profound and undeniable tidal wave of scientific studies that repeatedly show GMOs to be linked with severe organ damage, cancer tumors and premature death.

“Adverse effects… toxic effects… clear evidence”

Lead author of the study Dr. Judy Carman stated, “We found these adverse effects when we fed the animals a mixture of crops containing three GM genes and the GM proteins that these genes produce. Yet no food regulator anywhere in the world requires a safety assessment for the possible toxic effects of mixtures. Our results provide clear evidence that regulators need to safety assess GM crops containing mixtures of GM genes, regardless of whether those genes occur in the one GM plant or in a mixture of GM plants eaten in the same meal, even if regulators have already assessed GM plants containing single GM genes in the mixture.”

  1. God, how I wish everyone wd stop buying bacon & pork!! I LOVE it but there’s NO denying the cruelty of the meat industry!! Nope! I stopped buying it years ago. People could buy LOCAL ORGANIC pork & bacon – you can T-R-YYYYY to anyway, please just try…..

    OK, this explains a LOT! I have had ulcers since I was 8. It was ok for awhile, when I was raising a lot of my own food. But then it got worse, again. I started getting GERD. I was constantly nauseated, and the doctors all said it was my ears, not my stomach, causing that pervasive nausea, day in and day out. Then it got worse. I have had gastritis, which is a serious medical condition involving vomiting blood periodically, for about six years. It is a constant inflammation of the stomach and a loss of the protective mucosa in the stomach. I mean, it’s gone, right? Just that whole layer of skin and cells. And this causes cancer, right? I was told that it would never improve. Never. I was given medications for symptoms that made me sicker, and gave me malnutrition, because they interfere with the absorption of vitamins and minerals. Along with the fact that some things are not digested properly. So much for medical care, right? I lived on pureed foods for a couple of years. We are not quite entirely organic, but striving to be. I went gluten free for several years, which helped, but it wasn’t enough. Then I found out about how 98% of USA rice is GMO. Some of my supposed healthy brands of GF foods were not organic, after all. We went grain-free the first of May. I am finally – FINALLY – healing. That is my stomach, there. Always feeling sick. Now I feel so much better. It’s not the grain, perhaps. I think it’s the GMOs. This is personal.

    • Worst part, the GMO crops being fed to them are the SAME GMO crops used in the manufacturing of U.S. ‘foods’ since the early 1990s. This stuff has been in OUR food and the pigs’ food since they started genetically modifying, and they never told us. Now a huge percentage of us have one or several food allergies. 🙁

  3. Nothing new ——GMO – bad for food animals — bad for us!!!! Now figure out how to put a stop to GMO!!! Sugar beets — 100% GMO, in this country!! GMOs spreading by cross pollenation everywhere in this country!!!! Super weeds, interesting problem for Monsanto to work on, after all they created the darn things!!!
