Amazing Benefits of Himalayan Pink Salt

Himalayan Pink Salt is a pure, hand-mined salt that is derived from ancient sea salt deposits. It is believed to be the purest form of salt available.

The high mineral crystals range in color from sheer white, varying shades of pink, to deep reds, the result of high mineral and iron content.

Himalayan Pink Salt is used by holistic chefs, spas, health professionals, and individuals for its range of nutritional and therapeutic properties. Pink salt may be used in the same manner as table salt for culinary dishes and baking, but it is purer and higher in mineral content. Pink salt can be used to stimulate circulation, relax the body, lower blood pressure, sooth sore muscles, and remove toxins from the body.

Himalayan Pink Salt can also be used in bath salt recipes, body scrubs, aromatherapy, homemade soap, and for all types of culinary and spa applications.

Beneficial Properties

Himalayan Pink Salt has a rich mineral content that includes over 84 minerals and trace elements such as: calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron. This salt is recognized for its beautiful pink color, high mineral content, and its therapeutic properties.

Regular consumption of Himalayan Pink Salt provides essential minerals, trace elements, balances electrolytes, supports proper nutrient absorption, eliminates toxins, balances the body’s pH, normalizes blood pressure, and increases circulation and conductivity. It can also assist with relief from arthritis, skin rashes, psoriasis, herpes, and flu and fever symptoms.

History of Pink Salt

Himalayan Pink Salt was originally formed from marine fossil deposits over 250 million years ago during the Jurassic era. Harvested from ancient sea beds, this rare and extraordinary salt has been a valuable commodity for centuries. Historically, the Himalayan people used this salt to preserve their fish and meat throughout the year, and every spring they transported the salt to Nepalese valleys for trade. Heavily burdened yaks would carry the salt along narrow sloping paths, mountains, and cliffs in order to sell and exchange the salt for other commodities.

Himalayan Pink Salt is still extracted from mines by hand, according to long-standing tradition, and without the use of any mechanical devices or explosion techniques. After being hand-selected, the salt is then hand-crushed, hand-washed, and dried in the sun. However it should be noted that most of the commercial supply of Himalayan Pink Salt on the market today is currently coming from the mountainous regions of Pakistan.

For culinary purposes, simply dissolve the salt into soups and hot dishes, or place the coarse salt crystals into a salt grinder and mill directly onto dishes.

Sole for Your Soul

Sole is a drinking brine made with pure Himalayan salt crystals. Just as bathing in the brine might be therapeutic for a range of conditions, drinking a glass of brine every morning is thought to contribute to the overall health and well-being of the body. According to Minnesota Wellness Publications, a nonprofit health and wellness organization, Himalayan salt contains “eons of stored sunlight energy,” which, when combined with spring water and consumed, provides the “complex mineral foundation for life to emerge, to be maintained and sustained.” Online purveyor of Himalayan pink salt, Psymphony, reports that drinking a sole solution every morning balances the body’s pH level, normalize blood pressure, dissolve sediment that causes kidney and gall bladder stone and arthritis, reduce cravings for addictive substances and clear skin disease by cleansing toxins from the body.

Consult a naturopathic or medical doctor before using Himalayan pink salt as an alternative medicine.

  1. Have used this for one year….and it is soooo much better than even the regular sea salt….They are harvesting in a monetarily depressed area, polluting nothing, charging a very good price….They don’t even have to grow it ….give those people a break.

  2. Places in eastern Europe like Romania have numerous and vast salt deposits (mines vacated or turned into tourist facilities). I believe eventually they will harvest those too (black salt).

  3. I love Himalayan salt! I have a jar with large crystals covered with purified water, I dip a tsp out and add to about 8 oz pure water first thing every morning. I notice better digestion since I’ve been using it.

  4. Just a thought/fact: People ingest a tremendous amount of toxins. And to the surprise of a lot of people, that includes salt. Most people are aware of how damaging and dangerous sugar is. But salt is definitely next to sugar in the area of “harmful to our bodies”. It doesn’t matter if you call it Celtic salt, sodium chloride, or sea salt. Why didn’t sailors who were stuck out in the ocean drink sea water? Because salt is poison and it damages the body’s systems. When there is salt involved, there is damage. Cancer cannot grow without salt (or sugar). Sugar and salt both stimulate tumor growth as well. Just a li’l share for those who do not realize this. Much Love…

    • Trace elements are its main ingredients, and you likely won’t really notice anything outstanding in the short term, but by not using poison table salt, you will reap the benefits in the long term in better overall health, especially if you are eating whole foods. A friend of ours started replacing his table salt with Real Salt and he saw his blood pressure go down. It had been extremely high.

    • if you start now and take the necessary steps to changing your diet you will see the benefits in the long term. while those who don’t change the chances are so much higher in getting type 2 diabetes, strokes, high blood pressure etc., etc., you will lower your odds on not getting sick. it’ll be much better to sail into your golden years under your own steam and not lying around in a home having someone spoon feed you cause you didn’t take care of yourself. 🙂 keep on truckin’. 🙂

  5. Wow, I just RANDOMLY bought this salt last week and I was going to post on here if anyone has heard of it … I was getting some spices at the store and I saw and it was very appealing .. it taste really good and it was affordable .. came in its own grinder too .

  6. “The high mineral crystals range in color from sheer white, varying shades of pink, to deep reds, the result of high mineral and iron content. ”

…not really pure now is it? You can’t have both high iron content in this salt and call it pure.

  7. so everyone round the world start taking this off the people who used it with respect ,,,,not to sure about this at all ,,,same as gnoa seed it has now made it to much for the locals to buy ,,just so us westerns can get healthy dam food !!!!!
