Are you struggling from low self-confidence, self-esteem or a general lack of belief in yourself? It turns out that the vast majority of people suffer from some sort of self-esteem issues and a lack of confidence and self worth.
As you probably already know by now, self-confidence is extremely important in almost every aspect of human life and so many people struggle to find it. Sadly, this lack of belief in oneself can become a vicious circle that gets worse and worse and affects nearly every aspect of life. People who lack self confidence can find it extremely difficult to become successful at work or in their relationships.
So the question becomes, if you are low in self-confidence, is it possible to do things that will change that and turn your own life around? Is your self-confidence in your control?
While it may not seem so, if you are low in self-confidence, I honestly believe that you can do things to increase your self-confidence. It is not genetic, and you do not have to be reliant on others to increase your self-confidence. And if you believe that you are not very competent, not very smart, not very attractive, etc. … that can be changed.
What is Self-Confidence?
Self-confidence is defined as a feeling of trust in one’s abilities, qualities, and judgment. The fact is, some of the greatest leaders in the world lack self-confidence at certain times. Self-confidence is not a static quality; rather, it’s a mindset that takes effort to maintain when the going gets rough (1).

There’s more to being confident than your appearance and how you look. To be truly confident you must live and act confident. Boosting your self-confidence requires active participation! After doing this a few times, it will become much easier for you to start conversations and take on challenges you never dreamt of before. Practice developing your skills of being self-confident and soon it will become second nature.
Lack of action and being lazy breeds doubt and fear, while action breeds confidence and courage. Continue to keep a record of your strengths and weaknesses and also of the chances you took and as well as your new confidence initiatives. Once you put more energy into your positive traits, your confidence will start to shine through.
5. Set goals, and work hard to achieve them!
Setting goals is one of the most important keys in building self-confidence. Starting with the very small, easily attainable goals will help you get in the habit of setting them, achieving them, and celebrating that achievement. It’s important not to make these goals particularly challenging at the beginning stage. The point is to get yourself into the habit of achieving goals and then celebrating the achievement of them. Always keep in mind that nobody is perfect and there is always more to learn. It’s good to celebrate your strengths and achievements and also to recognize and admit your weaknesses and faults. Give others credit for their accomplishments and good characteristics and use genuine compliments and praise sincerely.
Be humble, courteous and polite at all times and show a genuine interest in what others are doing. Nobody likes a arrogant person, so do not become one!
